National Cyber Crime Helpline โ 24/7. Tell them: amount deducted, time, account number, suspected fraud type. They will create a complaint ticket and may be able to freeze recipient's account before money moves further.

Block card and freeze account
Call your bank helpline immediately to block debit/credit card and request temporary account freeze to prevent further unauthorized transactions.

File cyber crime complaint online
Visit cybercrime.gov.in โ Report cyber crime โ Financial fraud. Upload transaction details, screenshots, bank statement. Note complaint number.

File written complaint at bank branch
Visit bank with: FIR copy, cyber crime complaint number, account statement, transaction screenshots. Request "Chargeback" formally in writing. Bank must resolve in 30 days.

RBI Banking Ombudsman if bank rejects
File on cms.rbi.org.in (RBI Complaint Management System). Include all documentation. Ombudsman can direct bank to refund if bank is at fault.
โ ๏ธ Common fraud types to watch for: Fake bank customer care calls asking for OTP ยท "Your account will be blocked" SMS with fake link ยท KYC update fraud via WhatsApp ยท Fake UPI payment requests showing money "sent" ยท Lottery/prize fraud asking advance payment. Remember โ any legitimate bank communication will NEVER ask for OTP, PIN or CVV over phone or message.
